En el sector privado ha desarrollado una carrera como gerente administrador de empresas de los sectores industrial y agro-exportador.  Es especialista en temas de inteligencia comercial, fue parte del equipo fundador de esta dirección en el Instituto de Promoción de Exportaciones e Inversiones PROECUADOR, donde ha ocupado distintas posiciones,llegando a desempeñarse como Director Ejecutivo de la misma.
